coffee filter butterfly!

one thing i love about the changing seasons (though you wouldn't know it with the nice snow storm today) is all of the new fun crafts! this butterfly is especially cute and easy!

our bag of tricks:
-coffee filter(s)
-watercolor paints
-black pipe cleaners (cut in half)
-paint brush
-a little artist

wondering how to make this little friend? its easy!
step one: flatten the coffee filter and set on a flat surface

Step two: go to town painting! it will take sometime, make it as colorful as you can, and cover all the white!
it should look like this when finished!
step three: be silly while waiting for the coffee filter to dry!
step four : after dry (about 30min, under a fan) fold accordion style and add the pipe cleaner antennas.

tada!

  1. Very cute! We always did those in pre-k by coloring the coffee filter with markers and then spraying it with water. :)
